Catherine Ding, MD, FAAD, is a board-certified dermatologist and the founder of City Derm NYC in the Chinatown neighborhood of New York City. She is committed to providing her patients with the most advanced dermatologic care available while remaining respectful of their desires and opinions.
Patients greatly appreciate Dr. Ding’s extensive medical skill, her warm and friendly manner, and an approach that includes them in the decision-making process regarding their treatment. The City Derm NYC facility itself also gets high marks for its updated modern décor that’s lovely and welcoming rather than cold and sterile.
Dr. Ding attended SUNY Downstate School of Medicine, where her passion for dermatology began. During her final year of medical school, she was named an Estée Lauder fellow, having worked with the company to study the effects of their products on skin cells, and received the William Montagna MD Award for Excellence in Dermatological Research.
Dr. Ding returned to SUNY’s Stony Brook University for her internship in internal medicine and completed her residency in dermatology at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, where she served as chief resident during her final year.
She is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology. Dr. Ding is also a member of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and Society for Pediatric Dermatology. She is an assistant clinical professor at the New York Harbor VA hospital in Brooklyn and SUNY Downstate Medical Center, where she fulfills her passion for teaching.
Dr. Ding provides comprehensive dermatologic care to patients of all ages and strongly believes in the importance of preventive skin care and patient education. She provides services in medical, pediatric, cosmetic, and surgical dermatology with interests in treating skin of color, acne, eczema, melasma, pediatric issues, and minimally invasive cosmetic procedures.
